Introduction

With the rapid development of information technology and intelligent technology in the new era, all industries have started the process of using the high and new technologies to transform the traditional productions. As the backbone of transportation, the railway system is also facing unprecedented challenges. With the introduction of the concept of intelligent railways, artificial intelligence (AI) technology has become increasingly widely used in the modern railway system. The application of a new generation of information technology with AI technology as the core in the railway system will significantly improve the production efficiency, reduce the operating cost of trains, and improve the service quality. The promotion of the intelligent application of railway system has comprehensively improved the safety, reliability and emergency response capabilities, which will well meet the practical requirements of the railway systems.

Topics of interest to this special issue include, but are not limited to

  • Fault diagnosis and PHM of railway systems via learning schemes

  • Autonomous collaboration of high-speed trains based on train-to-train communication and virtual coupling

  • Automatic driving.

  • AI empowered technologies of the train control systems in China’s remote region railways (e.g. Chuan-Zang Railway).

  • Machine learning in railway transportation management.

  • Collaborative control schema for heavy-haul trains.

  • AI-driven wireless communication optimization methods for train control systems.

  • AI-based technologies for the traction power supply in railway systems.

  • Machine vision for foreign object detection and equipment inspection in railways.

Submission Guidelines

1.              The paper should belong to the author’s scientific research results, the data are true and reliable, have important academic and application value, and has not been published or read in public publications or conferences. Besides, there is no issue of duplicate submission.

2.              The paper should include title, abstract, keywords, body text and references, please referring to the recent papers on Chinese Journal of Electronics (it is a blind review and please hide the authors and funding information).

3.              Please submit the paper through the official website (http://cje.ejournal.org.cn/) The corresponding author’s contact address, telephone number, and E-mail address should be attached to the paper (Please fill in the system when you register the website, and do not put them in the manuscript. Articles will be reviewed anonymously according to the standard of normal submissions).

4.              Please note “2023RailAI+” in the head of the paper title when submitting it.
